Here are a few of my favorite links. Some are present or former clients... some just friends... and some reflect several of my personal or professional interests. You may find them interesting and useful. PROFESSIONAL CorelDraw Simply the most elegant, easy-to-use, intuitive, versatile graphic design tool on the face of the planet...and my own personal favorite! Wacom The Wacom Tablet is the one indispensable tool for the graphic designer...especially this graphic designer. I own two: a 6" x 8" and a 12" x 12"...and I wouldn't even begin to think about using a mouse! Coffee Cup Another favorite of mine! They have an HTML editor that is inexpensive and easy-to-use...and one that lets the web designer stay in control of the code. That alone makes it worth twice what they ask for it! Java Boutique A great source of Java applets and related goodies! Tucows You can find more web goodies (both Freeware and Shareware) on this site than anywhere in the web universe! The Dillard House One of North Georgia's true treasures. If you can't please your taste buds here, you never will. Denver Roofing One of my newer clients. If you need industrial, commercial or residential roofing, give 'em a call! Corban Services Joseph Fambrough and his associates are expert in water treatment for large businesses industries and municipalities. AmeriPro Plumbing Dave Crewey is one of the world's nice people...and a helluva plumber too. When you need plumbing services, he's the man! Unidigm Inc./Sarchí Salsa Unidigm President Dave Sloyer is a friend (and client) of more than 30 years! We worked together on Road Atlanta, AmTech USA, and now...Sarchi Salsa! This is the best, most fresh, zingy tasting salsa on the market today! Look for it in selected Kroger, Publix and other fine food stores. You'll never be satisfied with any other salsa...EVER! PERSONAL The Church Choir Basic Music Survival Guide This is a little book I authored to fill what I believed was a void in the church choir world. Most music texts are far too complicated for the average once-a-week choir member, and most of these folks have little to no formal training in choral music and music notation. I felt a sort of "basic need-to-know" text would be of enormous benefit to them, but whatever the form of the final book, it would have to be inviting, light-hearted, non-threatening...and informative. Subsequent testimonials have led me to believe I was successful! If your choir could use a book like this, just visit this link to see a description, some sample pages and ordering instructions. Sentimental Journey Orchestra For almost three decades this big band has been delighting dancers througout the southeast. I have had the pleasure of being a member of its trombone section since its inception in December of 1975. Callanwolde Concert Band It was as a member of this community concert band that I dusted off old skills after a 17-year hiatus from the trombone. Eleven years later I traded off my membership in the CCB to join my church choir's bass section. Robert Hughes' The Big Band This is a band in Connecticut similar to the SJO. Its founder and current leader is an alumnus of the SJO. Couleur Swing Here's a very interesting site from the northeast corner of France where J. F. Dewez holds forth with a 17-piece big band! The band also boasts not only a very fine vocalist, but a vocal quartette as well! They are working in an area that is not particularly supportive of big bands and are doing a GREAT job. Check out their online RealAudio clips and you'll see what we mean! Jazzy Aventure This is a website that features Christophe Vancostenoble. He uses the name Christophe Avril for simplicity. I met this talented young vocalist on the internet and we soon became friends as we corresponded in French about Big Bands, the past and present world of swing music, and singing. He and his beautiful wife visited Georgia a few years ago and were our guests for nearly a week. He made a spectacular guest appearance with the SJO and impressed not only our audience, but our band members as well. He currently sings and records solo and is also a member of the Couleur Swing's vocal quartet. Visit his site and listen to some of his audio clips! Billy Moore This musical treasure is a member of the Sentimental Journey Orchestra. He comes to us by way of Broadway, Hollywood, Ray Charles, Count Basie and too many more to count. I'm pleased to count him among my friends, and thankful that he chose to play with us musical duffers. Check out his site and find out more about Mr. Moore. The Cadfael Page My favorite historical mystery character! These 21 books by the late Ellis Peters captivated me from the start. If you love mysteries and history, you owe it to yourself to become acquainted with the inimitable Brother Cadfael of the 12th century abbey of Saints Peter and Paul in Shrewsbury. Take Our Word For It If you're a sucker for words and their origins, this is the place to be! |
